Beauty Behind the Mask: How to Treat the Mess
Let’s be honest, wearing a mask sucks! It’s uncomfortable, it’s difficult to breathe and it also screws with your skin. I’ve been getting a lot of questions surrounding wearing a mask and its effects on the skin so I figured I’d unpack everything for you.
Wearing a mask is similar to being on an airplane with circulating stale air. You’re in your very own HOT BOX! And it’s wreaking havoc on your skin. To be frank, wearing a mask constantly overtime is not good for your skin. Many of my clients have told me that they’ve gotten acne and bumps on their skin from wearing a mask. The breakouts you’re experiencing from wearing a mask is not classified as a typical or normal acne breakout. What many of you are experiencing is inflammation of the skin that’s causing breakouts, eczema flare-ups, dry patches, peeling, and all sorts of irritation.
