This is the MOST Neglected Part of the Body

The Décolletage

No matter how committed you are to your skincare, there’s always one important area we all seem to neglect: The décolletage, which is very much a part of the neck! The chin to the chest area is one of the first places on your body to show signs of aging. You can run with a nip and tuck but you can’t hide.

The skin on your neck is sensitive and thin compared to other parts of the body,” says Dr. Sapna Westley, board-certified medical & cosmetic dermatologist in New York City. Combine that with gravity and the constant craning over smartphones, (where the term Tech Neck same from) and it’s an area very much at risk for fine lines and sagging…not to mention terrible posture making the neck look even worse. Crepe-y skin below the chin is mainly caused by sun damage which leads to collagen and ultimately leads to sagging, drooping.

Whether you’re looking to temporarily tighten or an invasive procedure there’s a slew of stand-out moisturizers, serums, and treatments that will help you look more ’Snatched’. Don’t expect a face cream to do a neck cream’s job! Remember those are 2 different skin types.

TIP!! Read the ingredients people! Don’t take everything for face value, you’ll thank me in the long run. Look for Aqua, Peptides, Hyaluronic Acid, Squalene – these ingredients are super hydrating & plumping.

Fight That Turkey Neck

TRIED & TESTED FAVS!

Strivectin

Strivectin is one of the best selling neck creams that visibly tightens, lifts and firms the neck for a more youthful-looking profile. It’s rich in vitamin B and is paraben-free.

Revision Skincare

Dermatologist recommended and approved, Dr. Westley approved! The Revision Skincare’s Nectifirm prevents early to moderate signs of aging on the neck and décolletage.

RoC

This drugstore brand earns major points for incorporating SPF, offering a double whammy of both protection and treatment, and it can also be used on your face and chest, too. RoC’Multi Correxion 5 in 1 Anti-Aging Facial Night Cream also gets brownie points for the addition of vitamin E, for extra hydration. Since this does contain SPF, be sure to add it to your daily morning routine.

Sio Beauty

The Sio Beauty Plunging Neckline Pack is made of medical-grade silicone that hug the skin on your neck and décolleté, gently compressing it to stay flat and smooth. The patches provide hydration and support the skin’s ability to retain moisture, minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It’s important to use it often to see maximum results.

Beauty Roller

Make sure to use your choice of beauty roller and massage & stimulate the cream into the neck and chest. My personal favorite the past few years has been Nurse Jamie Beauty Roller!

Botox

Another more effective & longer-lasting treatment would be Botox which involves small amounts of toxin being injected into specific areas of the face and neck to weaken muscle movement. This prevents the muscles from contracting to form wrinkles, or from bulging to form a ‘turkey neck’.

Dermatologist Recommended Retinol

You can consult with your dermatologist to recommend and/or prescribe a retinol topical cream to help reduce that crepey look. Retinols help restore skin’s elasticity and thicken collagen (which gives our skin its structure) as well as elastin (which gives our skin its stretch).

Take a Vist to your Cosmetic Doctor

Devices like Thermage, Exilis Ultra, VanquishME, and a bunch of others are available with your cosmetic doctors that use radiofrequency for collagen remodeling & tightening. This can get expensive and requires multiple treatments back to back to see serious results.

Kybella

If you feel like you have both, a fatty double chin as well as sagging neck skin, the Kybella-Infini combo can be a powerfully effective non-surgical treatment. As Kybella dissolves the fat under the chin, Infini RF can simultaneously tighten the loose skin. Another pricey treatment but highly effective! Great for that stubborn fat that just won’t go away. The procedure consists of multiple small injections administered under the chin which can leave you bruised, swollen, numbness, redness, soreness. Keep in mind that it may take a few treatments to see maximum results and your visits should be 1 month apart.

Fraxel

Another nonsurgical treatment would be Fraxel which is a laser resurfacing treatment that targets aging and sun-damaged skin. The procedure consists of microscopic laser columns that penetrate deep into your skin to expedite your body’s remodeling of collagen.

Tons of different options out there for your ladies! It’s just a matter of picking what’s going to work best for your pocket and pain threshold!<-
