The Beginners’ Guide: Have your basics down
It’s so important to understand your skin type and set a strong foundation for long-term success! Focus on what you need and find the right products for it. There are many trusted brands that offer Skin Quizzes to help you discover your complexion and the products that will work most effectively.
It’s mandatory to have a solid A.M. and P.M. routine to maximize your efforts. Your body responds really well to consistency! Don’t worry too much about the cost, as long as you got the right product, you’re good to go.

Rule of thumb is to start with the lightest to heaviest product.
1. Face Cleanser – Crucial in getting rid of all the bacteria while cleansing your skin. This prevents acne and blemishes by setting a clean surface.
2. Toner (optional not mandatory!) – Toner restores your skin’s pH level and vitamins that would have been stripped during your cleanse and can help smoothen the skin. You’ll need a few drops on a cotton pad and in a fluid motion go from the center of your face towards the outer edges while gently pulling upward to help lift the skin to not contribute to any long-term wrinkles.

A personal favorite of mine is the Revision Skincare Teamine Eye Complex (which I’m not going to lie, it issss on the pricier side) BUT it is TOTALLY worth the splurge for your big day!
6. Spot Treatment (optional) – There are those times where things can’t be helped and a spot treatment will primarily keep the focus on that! If you have no areas of issue, go ahead and skip this step. If you have acne scars or blemishes, I highly recommend pimple patches and Dermalogica Age Bright Spot Fader
7. Retinoid (Nighttime only) – This targets fine lines and wrinkles because retinoid compounds include vitamin A, the powerhouse Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Retinol Oil is an amazing and affordable product that will do the job in no time! Be sure to only apply at night because the sun can reverse the effects!
8. Sunscreen (Daytime only) – Now I hate to say this, and I know you’ve heard it all your life, but PLEASE apply sunscreen to your lovely faces!
