My Favorite No Makeup Makeup Products

Beauty in the post-COVID-19 world has gotten weird. Instead of fully beat faces every day, everyone’s slowed down and taken a step back. It’s all about enhancing your features now, and showing off skin that doesn’t need to be covered up or hidden.

For those of us that have realized a full face of makeup every day is maybe a bit of a waste, but don’t want to go totally bare (especially for Zoom meetings or Facetime dates), I’ve found a good balance with just a few basic products.

Isn’t it weird that we want to apply makeup…that looks like we’re not wearing makeup? Existential beauty crisis aside, keep reading for my favorite no makeup makeup products!

Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow Face Primer

If you know me you know I worship JLo. In my never-ending chase to get her lit-from-within glow, I am so glad there’s Wonderglow from Charlotte Tilbury. I like using this right after my Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream moisturizer. What can I say? I’m loyal.

It makes your skin look sooo fresh just by itself, or you can double up the glow and use it as your primer and then later as a highlighter after you’ve laid down your foundation.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer

No makeup makeup is all about looking natural and glowing. But if you’re like most of us, your skin isn’t all one tone. There’s sometimes redness, dark under eye circles, blemishes, or pigmentation you want to fade—but without caking on full-coverage makeup.

My Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer is where skincare meets makeup. It’s just a super hydrating moisturizer that also happens to give you even-looking skin and doesn’t settle in your little wrinkles or lines. There’s also an added boost of SPF protection!

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer

I mean, it’s the number one concealer on everyone’s list and in every makeup artist’s bag for a reason.

If for some reason you’ve never tried this, prepare to be enlightened. Most concealers are too sticky, too pink, too sheer, too opaque, too yellow, but not Radiant Creamy Concealer. The shade range is super inclusive, especially for us brown skinned girls with all kinds of undertones, and it covers anything you got, without making you look too caked on.

Tarte Shape Tape Ultra Creamy Concealer

Another classic concealer. There’s a huge shade range so you can pick up a color that matches your skin EXACTLY plus one that’s a little lighter or darker, if you want to add in some subtle contour to your no makeup makeup look!

I really like the new Ultra Creamy formula because ya girl got dry skin, and some concealers dry out my skin and then settle in the little lines around my eyes, making me look tired and old. A moisturizing concealer is just what you need to wear concealer that just looks like really flawless skin.

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder

I will use and rep the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder until the day I die. It’s the GOAT for me.

When I want to look like myself, only with a real-life filter, I just use this to set my undereyes and neutralize any oily zones I’ve got going on. Good to go for the rest of the day!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz

My favorite one-step brow product is hands down Brow Wiz. It keeps my brows looking fluffy and filled, without looking too perfect or done.

The pencils are super thin, able to create hair-like strokes and the product is buildable, meaning you can go as basic or as “on fleek” as you like!

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes! Mascara

I LOVE this mascara. It’s become my daily go-to because I can make it as subtle or as glammed up as I want!

The brush features flat sides and sides with silicone bristles so that you can grip and lift literally every lash. You’re in total control of how much product you get and your final look. My kind of mascara.

Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Matte Bronzer

When you find a good matte bronzer, you tell everyone about it. And you don’t let it go. The Hoola Bronzer (in several shades) has become my go-to for myself and clients, especially in the summer!

Just sweep your shade of Hoola all over your face for a matte, natural-looking bronze. For a more contoured look, apply a deeper shade in the hollows of your cheekbones.

Glossier Ultralip

They must be able to see the future, because Glossier’s vibe has always been the no makeup makeup look. And they don’t call their Ultralip “the cashmere sweatpants of lipstick” for nothing!

I love swiping this on to polish off a good no makeup makeup look. It’s a super comfy and shiny lip balm that’s buildable so you can make it as subtle or as bright as you prefer.

Merit Day Glow Highlighting Balm

Hello new awesome highlighter! Stick highlighters can really be hit or miss, but this one is vegan, fragrance-free, and it has hydrating properties to keep your makeup looking fresh.

This has zero sparkles in it (I hate glittery/sparkly highlighter) and instead just makes your skin look really healthy, dewy, and glowing!

A Good Eyelash Curler

I firmly believe that everyone needs a good eyelash curler. It’s a must-have gadget. Plus, it’s totally fool proof, there’s no color, no application, and no skill required. You can’t mess it up!

The most iconic eyelash curler (with good reason) is the Shu Uemura eyelash curler—and I love it too! I also highly recommend Kevyn Aucoin’s eyelash curler as well if you want to try something different.

The great thing about makeup is that it’s whatever you make it! Whether you want to rock your most glam look or you want to keep it subtle and pretty, there’s options for you!

That’s really the best kind of no makeup makeup product, isn’t it? One that’s buildable and versatile to get your money’s worth!
