WHAT SORT OF LOOK DID YOU OPT FOR ON YOUR WEDDING DAY?
Mary: Anyone who knows me will know that I am “extra” about everything. On my wedding day, I had two outfit changes, I wanted each look to be very glamorous. For the first look, I had KC give me a bold smokey eye, lots of contour, and a beautiful up-do that complimented the dimensions of my face. As a girl that loves to dance the night away, I didn’t want to be the bride that picks up and drags her gown all over the place (no thanks). Having a shorter dress at the reception allowed me to break it down with all of my guests. For this look, KC let my hair down and gave me big voluptuous curls (think old Hollywood) with an orchid in my hair. If this wasn’t extra enough, we added a bright red lip.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE KARUNA FOR YOUR SPECIAL DAY?
Mary: There didn’t even need to be a choice. Karuna is the ONLY artist that can deliver at this calibre. They should find someone who they would enjoy spending a substantial amount of time with (because you will), and make sure this artist doesn’t seek to change your look so much that you’re unrecognizable! WHAT ARE YOUR STRESS MANAGEMENT TIPS FOR SOON TO BE BRIDES?
Mary: I recommend being very involved in the details of your w
edding early in the planning process. I was so confident in knowing the ins and outs of my wedding, I had almost no stress on my wedding day. I think that a lengthy investment of time and energy makes it all worth it. On the day, I was completely ‘hands off’ and it felt amazing.
Maybe it sounds cliché, but I also recommend to treat yourself (a lot). When you become overwhelmed (because you will), have some go-to stress-relieving routines to fall back on. For an entire year leading up to my wedding, I went to monthly facials at HeyDay- my favorite skincare company in NYC.
